Uttarakhand News: During his visit to Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a historic and inspiring event at the Collectorate complex in Rudrapur. He formally unveiled a 9-foot-tall bronze statue of the great freedom fighter and immortal revolutionary, Shaheed Udham Singh, on his death anniversary. Built at a cost of approximately 40 lakh rupees, the statue commemorates the martyr’s indomitable courage and patriotism. The Chief Minister paid tribute to this great son of the country, paying homage to his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
Martyr Udham Singh is an immortal symbol of patriotism and self-respect.
Addressing the gathering after the statue’s unveiling, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the life of Martyr Udham Singh is not merely a chapter in history, but an immortal symbol of patriotism, self-respect, and fearless struggle against injustice. He said that by punishing the main culprit of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre for his actions, Martyr Udham Singh protected the self-respect of Mother India. His great sacrifice will continue to inspire every generation to serve the country and work with complete dedication for the national interest.
Rudrapur Collectorate gets the gift of modern parking and beautification
In addition to paying tribute to the martyr, the Chief Minister also announced significant development projects to improve public amenities in the Rudrapur area. He inaugurated a new parking space, landscaping, and drainage system constructed at a cost of ₹120.18 lakh within the Collectorate complex. This new arrangement will provide convenient parking for visitors to the Collectorate. It will also beautify the complex and alleviate the problem of waterlogging during the rainy season.
Surface parking in Canal Colony will improve traffic system
Recognizing the city’s ever-increasing traffic problems, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a new surface parking lot in Rudrapur’s Canal Colony, to be constructed at a cost of ₹264.97 lakh. Once completed, this project will significantly improve traffic management in the surrounding area. Local residents and businesses will have a well-organized parking space, which will also alleviate traffic congestion.
The state government is committed to transparent and timely development.
Addressing the public meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the state government is working day and night to build modern infrastructure throughout the state and expand daily amenities for ordinary citizens. He stated clearly that special attention is being paid to the quality, transparency, and timely completion of every development project in Uttarakhand, so that the direct benefits of government schemes and development work can reach the last person without delay.
The Chief Minister had an emotional conversation with the family members of the martyr living in Punjab.
A particularly emotional moment was witnessed during this program when the Chief Minister interacted directly with the family members of Martyr Udham Singh living in Punjab via virtual medium. CM Dhami inquired about the well-being of the martyr’s family members and said that the entire state of Uttarakhand and the country wholeheartedly salutes the sacrifice of Martyr Udham Singh. The people of Uttarakhand will always cherish his great sacrifice. Following this, the Chief Minister planted a Rudraksh tree in the Collectorate premises, spreading the message of environmental protection.

Many prominent public representatives, including regional MLA Shiv Arora, Trilok Singh Cheema, BJP District President Kamal Jindal, Mayor Vikas Sharma, Deepak Bali, Minister of State with Independent Charge Anil Kapoor Dabboo, Manjeet Singh, Surendra Singh Namdhari, Farzana Begum, and former MLA Rajesh Shukla, were present at this grand ceremony. At the administrative level, District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, Chief Development Officer Divesh Shasni, and District Development Authority Vice President Jai Kishan, along with other top officials, were also present.
