Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed cow shed at a cost of ₹ 7.23 crore in Haldighera, Khatima. On this occasion, he also laid the foundation stone of 15 development schemes worth ₹108.84 crore. These mainly include the work of upgradation of 13.60 km stretch from Satrahamil to Nanaksagar division of State Highway-70 at a cost of ₹ 34.44 crore.
Chances of accidents will also reduce
Announcing the future expansion of Haldighera Gaushala as per the need, the Chief Minister said that with this, safe and respectable shelter will be provided to more and more destitute cows. The Chief Minister said that this Gaushala is an important initiative towards the protection of destitute cattle. While providing safe shelter to the destitute cattle wandering on the streets will ensure better care of them, it will also provide relief to the farmers and local people. This will also reduce the chances of accidents caused by cattle on the roads.
Land identified for construction of cow shed at 63 places
The Chief Minister said that Mother Cow has a special place in Indian culture. Protection of mother cow is not only our tradition but also our duty, religion and responsibility. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has always been a land with a tradition of cow protection and cow service. The state government is continuously working for the protection and promotion of destitute cattle. The Chief Minister said that more than 16 thousand destitute cows are being given safe shelter through Gau Sadans in the state. Gramya Gau Sevak Yojana has also been started as a pilot project in the state. With the help of Urban Development and Panchayati Raj Department, land has been identified for construction of cow sheds at 63 places in the state. He said that along with cow conservation, efforts are also being made to connect the cow progeny with the rural economy. Special growth centers have been set up to promote pure ghee and milk products of Badri cow.
Preservation of the country's culture and traditions
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many important works are being done towards the preservation of the country's culture and traditions as well as the promotion of livestock. He said that the state government is committed to the preservation of its cultural heritage and traditions along with development and public welfare. The Chief Minister said that continuous work is being done to strengthen roads, bridges, education, flood protection and other infrastructure facilities in the entire Udham Singh Nagar district including Khatima. He said that it is the priority of the state government to complete the development schemes in a timely and quality manner.
