CM Dhami Gyan Ganga Samman: A grand event of Gyan Ganga Samman Ceremony and scholarship distribution program was organized at the Chief Sevak Sadan of Chief Minister Camp Office, Dehradun. On this special occasion, State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended as the chief guest. He started the program by lighting the lamp and honored the teachers who spread the light of education in the society from the stage. Along with this, scholarship checks were handed over to the promising students who stood first due to their dedication for further studies. The Chief Minister congratulated all the respected teachers and children receiving scholarships and wished them a wonderful future. He clearly said that this event is not just a formal function, but it is a strong effort to discover emerging talents, hone them and give new wings to their dreams.
Participation is necessary in making dreams come true
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that when we help a needy or brilliant child in his education, it is not just financial help. In fact, we are becoming partners in the bright future of that child and in achieving the big goals of his life. He paid tribute to late Kusum Kanta, wife of former Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The Chief Minister said that his association with music, literature and social service is a source of inspiration for all of us. Following the path of service shown by him, Kusum Kanta Foundation has been continuously doing commendable work for the last six years. The organization has worked on the ground in important areas like education, women empowerment, skill development, digital literacy and environmental protection. Along with this, he also wholeheartedly praised the schemes being run by Manthan Welfare Association in the interest of the society.
Teachers are the true builders of the nation
Talking about Indian tradition and culture, the Chief Minister said that in our soil Guru has always been given a higher status than God. A good teacher does not just teach lessons from books, but he also gives new thinking, deep self-confidence and good values to his disciple. Guru is the expert who recognizes the talent hidden within the child and enhances it. The teacher sitting inside the classroom is not just teaching a child, but he is preparing the structure of the entire India of tomorrow. The Chief Minister appealed to the teachers that along with bookish knowledge, they should also teach such human values and values to the children, so that in future they can become good human beings and responsible citizens of the country.
National Education Policy and Transparent Recruitment Process
In his speech, the Chief Minister also mentioned the changing education system of the country. He said that the new National Education Policy brought under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making the country's education modern, practical and of international standard. Uttarakhand has been at the forefront among the selected states of the country, which were the first to implement this modern education policy on the ground. The state government is continuously working to raise the standard of education in schools and colleges. Apart from this, in order to ensure complete justice to teachers and youth, the entire system of government recruitment has been made completely fair and transparent, so that eligible youth can get their rights without any hindrance.
Coordination between family and school is very important
While addressing the parents and guardians who attended the function, the Chief Minister gave an important advice. He said that merely giving expensive facilities or luxuries to our children is not enough. The most important thing is that parents give their precious time to children. Teach them discipline and good values at home, so that their courage never breaks in the ups and downs of life. The destiny of any child is not made only within the four walls of the school. For this, both the family and the school have to work together as a team. Only when home and school make efforts together, our future generations will become strong.
Youth should move forward without being afraid of failures
Infusing new enthusiasm among the students, the Chief Minister said that they should always dream big and choose the path of hard work to make them come true. If you ever face failure in life, then you should not stop fearing it, rather learn from that mistake and move towards the goal with double the strength. He explained to the children that difficult and rocky paths often lead to the most beautiful and great destinations. The Uttarakhand government stands like a rock behind every promising student of the state and will provide them all opportunities to move ahead. Whether a student grows up to become a doctor, engineer, scientist, sportsman or a big industrialist, it is most important for him to become a sensitive person and a true patriot.
Tribute to the spirit of service of late Kusum Kanta
Former Chief Minister and former Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, present in the program, expressed emotional thoughts while remembering his life partner late Kusum Kanta. She said that she herself was a teacher and throughout her life she kept values above all else. Education is not just a means of obtaining a degree, but it is a strong medium for shaping the entire character of a person. When teachers instill a sense of duty in children, the entire nation becomes stronger. During this, Dr. Nishank taught all the scholarship receiving students to work in the interest of the country. Many dignitaries including Cabinet Minister Khajan Das, MLA Savita Kapoor, Professor Sudharani Pandey, founder of the organization Vidushi Nishank and Aryan Dev Uniyal were present in this grand event.
