CM Rekha Gupta gifts sewer development scheme worth Rs 138 crore to Karawal Nagar, government also claims on Yamuna cleaning

Delhi government has gifted a sewer development scheme worth Rs 138 crore to Karawal Nagar assembly constituency. The scheme was announced during a public meeting held in Karawal Nagar on Sunday. Many BJP leaders including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were present in the program. Addressing the gathering, Delhi BJP President said that the government is continuously working for the development of Karawal Nagar. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, a sewer development scheme worth Rs 138 crore has been started for the area, which will help in improving the sewer system and solving the age-old problems of the people.

He said that this project is an important step towards strengthening the infrastructure facilities in Karawal Nagar. Under the plan, work will be done to expand and modernize the sewer network, which is expected to benefit thousands of residents of the area. During the public meeting, the BJP President also mentioned the Yamuna cleaning campaign. He claimed that Yamuna water has been cleaned to a great extent from Sonia Vihar to Wazirabad.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that Karawal Nagar area was facing problems related to drainage, sewer system, clean drinking water supply and infrastructure for a long time. Delhi Government is committed to finding a permanent solution to these challenges and this foundation stone laying is an important step in that direction. He said that the aim of the government is not just to make announcements, but to deliver results by implementing development works on the ground. Under this thinking, large scale development works are being started in Karawal Nagar to expand the sewer network, strengthen the drainage system and improve civic facilities. The Chief Minister said that during the last one year, development works worth more than Rs 300 crore have been approved in Karawal Nagar assembly constituency. Several important projects have been given impetus through the Chief Minister Development Fund, MLA Fund and Yamuna Trans Development Board, which will help in strengthening the infrastructure of the region.

Work will be done fast in these areas

The Chief Minister said that the sewer line project worth Rs 138 crore has been approved and under this, the work of laying sewer lines in many areas including Sonia Vihar, Milan Garden, Chauhan Patti and Sabhapur Extension will be done rapidly. He said that continuous work is going on to replace the old water supply lines, clean the dilapidated sewer network with machines and improve the drinking water supply system. Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government is working on a war footing to solve problems like water supply and waterlogging. He said that the government does not want to be limited to mere announcements, but wants to bring the development works on the ground and provide its benefits to the people. He also informed that three Atal canteens have been started in the area, where food is being provided to the people at concessional rates. Apart from this, 3 Arogya Mandirs have also been approved for the purpose of providing better health services.

The Chief Minister assured that efforts will be made to provide every facility necessary for the development of Karawal Nagar and Yamunapar. He informed that the works of construction of streets in Sabhapur Extension, construction of roads and drains from Rampal Chowk to Shiv Mandir and strengthening of electrical infrastructure in various areas are also progressing rapidly. Rekha Gupta said that the aim of the government is to connect those areas of East and North-East Delhi with the mainstream of development, which were deprived of basic facilities for years. He said that the government is committed to the overall development of the area and efforts are being made to complete all the development projects in a time bound manner.

Government will also work on road widening

Making another important announcement on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government will seriously work towards widening and beautification of the road from Signature Bridge to Pushta Marg. He said that this project will be taken forward by coordinating the concerned agencies and completing the necessary legal procedures. Apart from this, he said that the government is also considering the possibilities of developing a modern and attractive river front along the banks of Yamuna in Sonia Vihar area. According to the Chief Minister, this project will not only help in beautification of the area, but can also give a new direction to tourism and local economic activities.
