On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reached the grand ISKCON temple in the capital and offered prayers as per the rituals. The Chief Minister visited Lord Krishna and bowed his head at his feet and wished for the happiness, peace, prosperity and welfare of the people of Delhi.

On the occasion of Janmashtami, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta worshiped Lord Krishna amid a devotional atmosphere at the ISKCON temple. The Chief Minister said that the life and teachings of Lord Krishna are still a source of inspiration for the entire humanity. Especially the knowledge of Srimad Bhagavad Gita inspires man to follow the path of truth, religion, duty, loyalty and compassion.

It is noteworthy that Shri Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, is celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across the country. On this occasion, devotees observe fast, perform bhajans and kirtans and participate in the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna at midnight.
On the occasion of Janmashtami, various temples of Delhi including ISKCON temple were decorated with flowers, attractive decorations and colorful lights, due to which the atmosphere of the capital looked completely devotional.
