CM Vijay Reviews Work On Rs 2,465 Crore Nemmeli Desalination Plant in Chengalpattu

The plant is being built at a cost of Rs 2,465 crore and is expected to significantly boost drinking water supply for Chennai and its suburbs.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay visited the project site today and reviewed the ongoing construction. He held discussions with officials on the current status of the plant and the development of allied water distribution infrastructure.

During the inspection, CM Vijay directed officials to expedite the project and ensure timely completion. He also offered suggestions to speed up work so that the plant can be brought into public use at the earliest and address the region’s growing water needs.

The Nemmeli plant is the third desalination facility coming up in the state after the existing plants at Minjur and Nemmeli Phase-I.
