Big alert from IMD! Heavy rain in Varanasi, warning of heavy rain in Haryana-Himachal
IMD Weather Update: Monsoon has gained momentum in many states of the country. On Monday, the weather became pleasant in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh due to more than 50 mm of rain and the maximum temperature dropped by about 6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the effect of humidity and heat still persists in Delhi.
On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in many areas of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon will remain active in many parts of North India in the coming days.
50 mm rain in Uttar Pradesh, temperature dropped by six degrees
Let us tell you that the monsoon arrived late by about 15 days and brought relief rains in Varanasi. More than 50 mm rainfall was recorded in the district on Monday i.e. after 10 am and 6 pm. During this time, winds blew at a speed of about 30 km per hour and it continued to rain with thunder and lightning.
According to the information received, due to rain, the maximum temperature dropped by about 6 degrees Celsius in a single day to 34.4 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. Varanasi, which was the third hottest city in the state on Sunday, became one of the cities with the lowest maximum temperature on Monday.
Yellow alert for rain even today
Talking to the media, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain for Kashi on Tuesday also. Under this, there is a possibility of rain along with strong wind, thunder and lightning. Not only this, but according to Dr. Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Uttar Pradesh IMD, it was told that similar weather may persist for the next one or two days. After this, there may be some increase in temperature, although intermittent rains will continue.
Effect of heat and bad air in Delhi
According to the report, the maximum temperature in Delhi today is expected to be 40 degrees Celsius and minimum 34 degrees Celsius. Not only this, today the day temperature has been recorded at around 36 degrees Celsius. While humidity in the capital remained at 34 per cent, the air quality index here was recorded at 197, which falls in the very minimum category. Let us tell you that in such a situation, people have been advised to go out only when necessary and adopt measures to protect themselves from pollution.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Haryana till July 12
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of intermittent rain in Haryana till July 12. Whereas between July 7 and 9, there may be heavy rain in many districts. It is being told that on July 8, good rain is expected in many areas including Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Karnal and Kurukshetra.
This series of rains may continue till July 10, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas. Let us tell you that there will be a slight reduction in rainfall on July 11, while the monsoon is likely to become active again on July 12 and 13.

There will be rain in Himachal for a week
Himachal Meteorological Center said that intermittent rain will continue in most parts of the state for the next 5 to 7 days. Orange alert for the next two days has been issued for Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. People have been advised to remain alert due to heavy rain.
