‘Sheeshmahal’ will become state guest house, Delhi government’s big decision on Kejriwal’s former official residence

Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding the official residence of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal located at 6-Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines. The government will now develop this complex as a state-of-the-art State Guest House and Cultural Centre. After this decision, this complex will be used to host distinguished government guests and delegations from India and abroad.

It is noteworthy that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been targeting this government residence by calling it “Sheeshmahal” for a long time. Now after coming to power, the BJP government has decided to completely change the use of this complex. The government says that this building will now be used as per public and administrative needs.

According to the government plan, a modern State Guest House will be built here, where there will be permanent accommodation for government delegations, VVIP guests, high level officials and other distinguished guests coming from the country and abroad. Security, accommodation, meeting rooms and other modern facilities will be provided in the guest house.

Along with this, a state-of-the-art cultural center will also be developed in the campus. The objective of this center will be to promote the art, culture and heritage of Delhi and provide a modern platform for various cultural programs, exhibitions and official events.

The government believes that this project will provide better hospitality facilities for government guests, and will also develop a multi-purpose cultural and administrative center in the capital. In the coming time, the detailed action plan of this project and the timeline for development works can also be released.
