Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a major education push focused on books, digital learning and knowledge-based development, saying that access to quality resources can unlock the potential of millions of young people.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 5th Gomti Book Festival 2026 at Lucknow University, the Chief Minister encouraged every child to read and understand the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's book Exam Warriors. He said the book is not only relevant for students preparing for examinations but also provides valuable lessons for facing challenges in different phases of life.
The Chief Minister distributed copies of Exam Warriors among students and interacted with young participants at the literary event, where books, authors, publishers and educational resources were showcased.
CM Yogi Big Education Vision for UP Youth
CM Adityanath highlighted that education is not limited to classrooms and textbooks but extends to continuous learning, curiosity and access to knowledge.
He said young people should develop a strong reading habit and explore books beyond academic requirements. According to him, literature, biographies, scientific research and inspirational writings help students develop confidence, creativity and a broader understanding of society.
The Chief Minister stressed that the future of Uttar Pradesh depends on empowering youth with better opportunities, modern infrastructure and easy access to learning resources.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Exam Warriors, CM Yogi said the book offers guidance to students dealing with examination pressure, competition and personal challenges. He explained that every individual faces different kinds of tests throughout life, whether related to education, career, responsibilities or personal growth.
The Chief Minister said books that provide motivation and positive thinking can become lifelong companions, helping young people develop mental strength and confidence during difficult situations.

The Chief Minister said it would be unfair to claim that today's youth no longer reads books because of digital platforms and social media. He said the real requirement is to create better systems that connect young people with quality books and knowledge resources.
According to him, the popularity of book festivals in Lucknow and other cities has shown that young readers continue to have strong interest in literature, learning and creative content when the right platform is provided.
57,600 Digital Libraries Expand Knowledge Access Across UP
Highlighting the role of technology, CM Yogi said the digital revolution has reduced the gap between villages and cities. He said Uttar Pradesh has developed digital learning infrastructure at the grassroots level through Gram Sachivalayas and community-based facilities.
The Chief Minister highlighted that digital libraries have been established across 57,600 Gram Panchayats, providing rural communities access to books, educational material and resources from institutions such as the National Book Trust. He said these initiatives are helping rural students showcase their abilities by providing them opportunities that were earlier unavailable.
Operation Kayakalp Transforms Government Schools
CM Yogi also highlighted the transformation of government schools through Operation Kayakalp, describing it as a major step towards improving education infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.
He said many government schools earlier struggled with poor buildings, limited facilities and inadequate learning environments. However, infrastructure improvements, smart classrooms and modern facilities have changed the educational landscape.
The Chief Minister said better facilities have helped students demonstrate their talent and confidence. Sharing an example from Chitrakoot, he highlighted how students were able to use digital learning resources after improvements in school infrastructure.
From Traditional Learning to Digital Education Ecosystem
The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh is working towards creating a balanced education system that combines traditional knowledge with modern technology. CM Yogi said the Uttar Pradesh Government is working to make libraries accessible in villages, schools, colleges and universities. He highlighted that the government is purchasing a large number of National Book Trust publications to ensure quality reading material reaches students across the state. The government also plans to expand book festivals beyond Lucknow and encourage literary activities in different regions of Uttar Pradesh.
