Technology Desk: Oppo has launched its new ColorOS 17. This software is based on Android 17. The company has given a new Fluid Design in it. The new update will also come to OnePlus and Realme devices along with Oppo. The company has also released the schedule of its rollout in China. Its stable update will start from October 8, 2026.
New Fluid Design will give a changed look
A new Fluid Design has been given in ColorOS 17. Due to this, changes will be seen in the interface of the phone. Along with this, Polar Light Engine and Fusion Rendering Architecture have also been added.
According to Oppo, Polar Light Engine reduces the startup time of the app. This can reduce runtime memory usage by about 25%. According to the company, it also reduces the rendering workload by about 30%.
Performance can be better with Tidal Engine
A new Tidal Engine is also provided in ColorOS 17. It manages system resources according to user usage.
Oppo claims that this can improve the stability of background apps by about 55.6%. The company has also claimed smooth performance for a long time.
New features will be available in Xiaobu AI Assistant
In the new software, OppoAI has been updated with the new Xiaobu AI assistant. Many AI based features will be available in it. Users will find sections like Xiaobu Space, Xiaobu Calls and Xiaobu and Me. It also has Xiaobu Memory feature. Through this, users will be able to create memory flash in one click.
AI Retoucher for photo editing
AI Retoucher feature has been provided for photos in ColorOS 17. With this, photos can be edited with the help of AI. Apart from this, AI Notes has also been updated with a new design. Features like One-Tap Sharing and Inspiration Cards will be available in it.
Update will start from October 8
The stable update of ColorOS 17 will roll out from October 8. Initially it will be released for some selected devices. In the first phase, Oppo Find N6, Oppo Find X9 series, OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15T and Realme GT 8 Pro will get the update.
Many devices will get updates on October 16
In the second phase, many devices will get ColorOS 17 from October 16. This includes Oppo Find N5 and Find X8 series. Apart from this, Oppo Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini will also get the update. OnePlus 13 series and Ace 6 series are also included in it. OnePlus Pad 3 Pro, Realme GT 8 series and Realme GT 7 Pro will also be updated.
The update will reach these devices in November-December
The rollout of ColorOS 17 will continue in November and December. During this time Oppo Pad 4 Pro will get the update. Apart from this, OnePlus Ace 5 series and OnePlus Pad 2 Pro are also included in it. Realme GT 7 and Neo 7 series will also get the update.
New software will also be available in Oppo Watch S2
ColorOS 17 will not be limited to just smartphones and tablets. It will also come with the new Oppo Watch S2. The new FatMax SuperFat Burning Mode will be provided in the smartwatch. The company says that wearables will also get fluid performance.
