The 10th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will begin on June 12, whose first match will be played between hosts England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will start from June 12, in which Team India, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, will take the field to play its first match on June 14. India will face arch rival Pakistan in the first match. Both the teams will face each other in Birmingham. This will be the first match of the tournament for both the teams. From India, players like Shefali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh have been included in this squad, while young faces in the form of Bharti Fulmali and Nandini Sharma are also going to be seen.

12 teams are taking part in the tournament
A total of 12 teams are participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which are divided into 2 groups. Australia, India, Netherlands, Bangladesh, South Africa and Pakistan are part of Group A. Whereas Group B includes teams from England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland and Scotland. There are 6-6 teams in both the groups. In such a situation, the top-4 teams of each group will make it to the Super-8 and then the top-2 teams of each group will reach the semi-finals.

This is the schedule of Team India in T20 World Cup 2026
Team India will play its first match on June 14, where it will face Pakistan. Then the second match is going to be against Netherlands on 17th June. There will be a clash with South Africa on 21st June. The last two matches in the group stage are scheduled to be held against Bangladesh and Australia on June 25 and 28 respectively.
