Following Asmita’s historic victory, India’s joy was further enhanced when Harsh Singh won the gold medal in the men’s 60 kg category. In the final, he defeated Australia’s Joshua Katz with a 10-0 waza-ari. Katz started the match aggressively, but Harsh defended brilliantly to prevent the Australian from taking an early lead. Harsh continued to find his opportunities.
