Congress candidate arrested before Nandigram by-election, Rahul Gandhi targets BJP

Tezzbuzz Desk- The party has targeted BJP over the arrest of Congress candidate Milan Pradhan before the Nandigram assembly by-election. Rahul Gandhi termed his arrest as political vendetta and alleged that BJP does not believe in fair elections and wants to end the electoral contest.

Rahul Gandhi said on social media platform X that Milan Pradhan's arrest is not a coincidence but a political vendetta. He alleged that BJP sometimes tries to save power through vote theft, sometimes government theft and sometimes party theft. Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will neither be afraid nor bow down.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also targeted BJP over the arrest. He alleged that investigative agencies were being misused to target opposition candidates in the by-elections. Congress claimed that BJP and the Election Commission are trying together to influence the elections in West Bengal.

According to the Congress, Milan Pradhan was arrested on Friday in a 19-year-old case related to the 2007 anti-land acquisition movement. The party described this development as a black spot for democracy and said that it is not afraid of these circumstances.
