The Congress Party has decided to make a major and decisive change in its political strategy. Moving beyond the politics of street protests, the party is now going to focus its entire attention on the upcoming election states. The party high command has clearly indicated that there will be no laxity in the preparations for the state assembly elections and the central leaders themselves will come into the field to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level. In this series, top Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is visiting Punjab tomorrow, where he will infuse new enthusiasm among the party workers and launch the upcoming election campaign. Central leadership brainstorming with electoral states and state units As part of this change in strategy, the top leadership of the Congress has started back-to-back meetings with the leaders and state in-charges of the electoral states. In New Delhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi held important meetings with senior leaders and discussed the election roadmap in detail. During this, many big leaders including veterans of Uttarakhand Congress and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met the party leadership. The main objective of these meetings is to finalize state-wise strategies, identify local public issues and carry forward the election campaign in a timely manner from the selection of candidates. Rahul Gandhi will visit Punjab tomorrow, will sound the election bugle from Sangrur. As part of the first phase of strategic change, Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Punjab tomorrow i.e. on 4th November. He will launch a major campaign and public meeting of the party from Sangrur district which falls under Malwa region. Punjab Congress President Pargat Singh and Punjab in-charge Sachin Pilot have reviewed the preparations for this tour and said that this rally of Rahul Gandhi will set a new direction for the Congress workers in the state. Through this rally, the party is preparing to launch a scathing attack against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on major issues like law and order and drug abuse. Preparations for protest on SIR issue on Constitution Day However, focusing on election states does not at all mean retreating from the issues of protest. Congress has clarified that the issue of SIR against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has not gone out of its agenda. The party is planning to organize a nationwide demonstration on November 26 on the occasion of 'Constitution Day'. Through this demonstration, Congress will take this issue to the public by directly linking it to constitutional rights, fair election process and democratic values. To strengthen the ground hold, emphasis will be on 'public relations and tours'. According to party sources, instead of being limited to only rallies and statements, Congress will now focus more on direct public relations campaigns. Programs like 'Hisab Mango' and district-level visits are being planned in Punjab and other election states. District presidents and local officials have been entrusted with the responsibility of reaching the booth level and communicating directly with the voters. The Congress leadership believes that victory in the upcoming assembly elections can be achieved only by giving proper direction to the local issues and public anger of the states.
