Congress leader Motha Rohit commended the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday for completing 1000 days in office, asserting that the party had delivered significant development to the state.
The Congress administration in Telangana reached the milestone of 1000 days in power on Tuesday.
Rohit cited the Moosarambagh flyover in Amberpet as an example of the government’s progress. He noted the project began under Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government but was halted under the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) administration. The flyover was inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday.
“It has been a thousand days since the Congress party came to power in this state, and during this period, the party has implemented programs delivering the kind of development that would typically take a thousand years. I won’t look too far afield; let me give you a small example,” Rohit said.
He added, “Just yesterday, the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Moosarambagh flyover in the Amberpet constituency. The Congress party was in power in this state until 2014. When Kiran Kumar Reddy was Chief Minister, a temporary bridge was constructed at Golnaka to facilitate the building of the new Moosarambagh bridge.”
Rohit further stated, “Subsequently, the Congress government left office; the state of Telangana was formed, and the KCR administration took over. KCR served as Chief Minister of Telangana for ten years, and his son, KTR, served as the Municipal Minister; yet, in those ten years, the Moosarambagh bridge was never built. In just two years, since the Congress party returned to power, the Moosarambagh bridge has been completed, bringing immense benefits to the people. of Amberpet, Moosarambagh, Malakpet, and all of Hyderabad.”
Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao urged opposition parties to discuss the government’s efforts during its 1000 days in office in the upcoming Assembly session. He said, “The Assembly session will start on September 7. The Opposition leaders should come to the House and take part in discussions on what the government has done in the last 1000 days.”
Meanwhile, earlier on Wednesday, the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) displayed posters across Hyderabad criticizing the Congress government’s record on completing 1000 days in office.
The posters appeared at several prominent locations, including the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters, the Telangana Assembly, and the Chief Minister’s residence. They depicted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy holding a bag of money while the public stood empty-handed.
Separately, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has initiated a statewide campaign to highlight what it terms as the Congress government’s betrayal of the people.
