The murder of Shiv Kumar Tiwari, an electricity department contractor, while returning from a Brahmabhoj ceremony in Ahirauli Khurd village, under the Sikriganj police station area, has caused a sensation. The incident is alleged to have been a result of a dispute, leading to a physical altercation, and the attack with a gun and a sharp weapon. Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Police have detained seven suspects, including three named accused. A total of 10 people are being questioned.
According to information, on August 8, 2026, villagers reported to the Sikriganj police station that a man had been assaulted in Ahirauli Khurd village and his body was lying on the roadside. Upon receiving the information, a police team arrived at the scene and inspected the scene. The police took the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Brahmabhoj ceremony had been organized in the village, which Shiv Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Ahirauli Khurd, had attended. While returning from the event, he got into an argument with some people over some issue. It is alleged that after the dispute escalated, he was assaulted and attacked with bullets and sharp weapons. Shiv Kumar, who was seriously injured, died.
The incident caused panic in the village. Police arrived on the information of villagers and immediately began an investigation. Based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s family, a case has been registered at the Sikriganj police station under relevant sections.
Police have detained three named accused and seven other suspects in the case. All are being questioned. Police are investigating the cause of the dispute, the entire sequence of events, and the role of other individuals involved in the incident.
