Conversation between PM Modi and Macron, emphasis on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz…
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently received a call from French President Emmanuel Macron, in which the two leaders discussed the security situation in West Asia and the need to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. On this occasion, PM Modi said that India and France will strengthen their cooperation for the stability of the region and beyond. Giving information about these talks on X, he said that the resolve of both the countries will be strengthened for peace and stability in this region and beyond.
Over the past few months, the security situation in West Asia and the Gulf region has been rapidly changing, and India has been maintaining high-level dialogue on these issues. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had also talked to the President of France in March on tensions in the region and both had agreed to work together to promote peace and stability.
Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi had also received a call from US President Donald Trump, in which both of them talked about ensuring the security and independence of the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Modi and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker also stressed the importance of safe sea lanes.
The joint meeting of France and Britain, which will take place in Paris this week, aims to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz by bringing together more than 40 countries.
