In order for the Dallas Mavericks to get the win on Monday night, Cooper Flagg had to match Giannis Antetokounmpo. Flagg did exactly that as the Mavericks won a close game and beat the Miami Heat 113-109.
On the same night Antetokounmpo recorded his first triple-double as a member of the Heat, Flagg also enjoyed his best overall performance of the season to date.
Cooper Flagg made his presence felt all over the court
Flagg scored 29 points, the same total as the Heat’s legendary former two-time league MVP, while putting up a double-double of his own. In addition to scoring, Flagg dished out 11 assists and brought down six rebounds. He even showed off his versatility and dominance by adding a career-high five steals and three blocks.
And as par for the course for Flagg, who’s trying to follow up on being named the 2025-26 NBA Rookie of the Year by taking his game to another level in year two, he even made league history, too.
Flagg became the youngest player (19 years, 309 days) and first teenager to score 25 or more points and deliver at least 10 assists with five rebounds and five steals in the same game.
