Count yourself! A major step by the Center is to open a special portal for self-enumeration in the state

Digital census in India is also digital! Days are over with bundles of papers, documents, file after file. Now in 2027, you can count yourself in India’s census! This work can be done from the comfort of your own smart phone through the digital form of 33 simple questions on the se.census.gov.in portal. In this big move by the Centre, government workers will do the enumeration by identifying the houses of those who are not interested in this ‘self-enumeration’. That too in a specific mobile app. whose dress name is ‘HLO’.

From August 1 to August 15, any citizen of the country can register their information through the portal at home. After registering with your valid mobile number, OTP will be sent to that mobile for verification. If you give that OTP there, that portal will be logged in.

It is alleged that the work of this calculation started in different states of the country from April 1, but it was not done in Bengal during Trinamool Jamaana. The process of census in Bengal started only after Shuvendu Adhikari became Chief Minister after the change of state. From August 1 to August 15, any citizen of the country can register their information through the portal at home. After registering with your valid mobile number, OTP will be sent to that mobile for verification. If you give that OTP there, that portal will be logged in.

For those who are not able to do this in digital management or are left behind in this calculation, the process of house identification or ‘house listing’ will continue from August 16 to September 14. After this work, this work of going door to door and collecting data will continue till February 2027. The state is deputing more than one and a half lakh specially trained enumerators or data collectors to do this work across the state.

For those who are unable to do this through digital management or are left behind in this calculation, the process of house identification or ‘house listing’ will continue from August 16 to September 14. After this work, this work of going door to door and collecting data will continue till February 2027. The state is deputing more than one and a half lakh specially trained enumerators or data collectors to do this work across the state. The smartphone of those enumerates will be the main weapon of the ’27 census. The training of Deputy Magistrates along with BDO is starting this month. Generally, the training of ‘Field Trainers’ will continue from July 7 to July 12. But this training will not be at the same time in different districts. These trainers will later teach the booth level employees how to use the HLO app and various technical issues.

To monitor all these issues, ‘Dedicated Census Monitoring Rooms’ are being set up in the districts. Which has already started in Purulia. District Magistrate Sudhir Kontham said, “The main goal of this digital census is to get the real statistics of the people of the country quickly and accurately, avoiding the complexity of paper and pen. The monitoring room will be very helpful in that work.” From this hi-tech monitoring room, census updates of all the districts concerned will be uploaded to the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) portal.
