Lucknow: In a setback for model Shraddha Dubey and two other accused in the death case of businessman Shiva Sharma, a Lucknow court has rejected their bail applications, observing that the alleged offense was serious in nature and triable by a sessions court. The bail pleas filed by Shraddha, her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Danish were dismissed by In-charge Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Verma. The court held that there were no sufficient grounds to grant them bail at this stage.
The decision comes after the three accused were produced before a court on Thursday and sent to judicial custody for 10 days, according to the information provided.
Bail Rejected Over Serious Nature of Alleged Offense
Shraddha's counsel had moved the bail application before the CJM court. However, the court observed that the alleged offense was serious and fell within the jurisdiction of a sessions court for trial. The rejection means the three accused will remain in custody unless they secure relief through further legal proceedings.
