What do we know about Crawl 2 so far?

The sequel to Paramount’s sleeper hit was announced in 2024. The thriller was released in theaters on July 12, 2019. It fared well during its theatrical run, earning $91.72 million worldwide on an estimated $17 million production budget.

It was directed by Alexandre Aja and followed the story of a father and daughter who become trapped in a Florida home and hunted by alligators after a Category 5 hurricane.

The new movie will follow a similar premise in a different setting, and Aja will again be directing. The story of the sequel will be set in New York City, where the streets and sewers become infested with alligators following a hurricane.

Aja will write the screenplay with Jason Harry Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, and Gregory Levasseur. The director will also produce the movie with Craig Flores and Sam Raimi. Executive producers include Levasseur and Zainab Azizi.

Crawl 2 will begin production this month in Hungary.
