Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins and opener Travis Head have also been confirmed to remain with the team. Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently on top of the points table with 14 points and is considered a strong contender to reach the playoffs. Many Australian players are currently part of different teams in the IPL. Jos Hazlewood and Tim David are playing for RCB. Whereas Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis are part of Lucknow Super Giants. Apart from this, Mitchell Starc is playing for Delhi Capitals and Cameron Green is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, players from teams whose chances of reaching the playoffs are slim can join the national team after the league stage is over. If Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders are unable to make it to the knockouts, then Starc and Green may soon join the Australian team. While the playoff hopes of Lucknow Super Giants are considered to be almost over, Marsh and Inglis can also join the team before the Pakistan tour. After the Pakistan tour, Australia also has to play a limited overs series against Bangladesh in June. The team will play three ODIs and three T20 matches against Bangladesh from June 9. In such a situation, Cricket Australia is trying to strike a balance between the workload of the players and the IPL schedule.
