Earlier this month, rapper Badshah and Isha Rikhi called off their relationship, and now, merely 15 days later, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal have called off their engagement, six months after announcing it.
Akriti confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Thursday, saying that the decision was difficult but one they had arrived at together.
She wrote, “With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future,” she wrote.
“As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways,” she added.
“I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward,” she wrote, while requesting privacy and asking people to give them space and avoid drawing conclusions or speculating about what happened between them”, she concluded.

The last remaining post on his profile is of a supposedly motivational quote reading, ‘Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself’.
Prithvi and Akriti had announced their engagement in March 2026. Shaw shared pictures from the ceremony on social media and celebrated the occasion with the caption, “From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She’s my perfect innings!”
The couple had gone public with their relationship ahead of the IPL 2026 season. Shaw was also hoping to use the tournament to make a case for an India comeback. However, he was benched throughout the season and did not get the opportunity to make that push during the tournament.
Before the couple announced their split, Agarwal had seemingly sparked speculation about trouble in their relationship. In July 2026, she shared an Instagram story that appeared to suggest she had been cheated on, although the post did not name anyone.
The story read, “I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can’t believe that after taking one step ahead. Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him.”
The screenshot later surfaced on Reddit, where it was shared with the caption, “Cheating allegations on Shaw: Instagram story of Akriti Agarwal, fiancee of Prithvi. The couple was recently engaged.” However, the original Instagram story did not identify Shaw by name.
In May, Shaw also shared a birthday post for Agarwal, giving fans a glimpse into their relationship.
