Crowd of students in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park: Thousands of youth took to the streets carrying tricolor on NEET issue

A large number of students, parents and citizens gathered at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park (Shivtirtha) in Mumbai on Sunday in support of the ongoing student movement on issues related to NEET exam. Thousands of people holding the tricolor in their hands sang the national anthem and raised the demand for transparency and accountability in the examination system. During the event, the entire Shivaji Park was seen with patriotic slogans and tricolor flags.

Before the event, Shiv Sena leader and MLA Aditya Thackeray had appealed to the youth to participate in the program carrying only the tricolor and not the flag of any political party. On his call, a large number of youth reached Shivaji Park. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Amit Thackeray also participated in the program. When both the leaders arrived, the people present welcomed them with applause and slogans.

Many political leaders including Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, Anil Desai, MLA Anil Parab, Ambadas Danve, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Sainath Durge, Mahesh Sawant, Varun Sardesai, Mumbai Youth Congress President Zeenat Shabrin were present in the demonstration. Actors Makarand Deshpande and Atul Kulkarni also participated in the program and encouraged the students.

However, he also made it clear that the demand for transparency in the examination system, strict action on paper leaks and comprehensive reforms in the education system will continue in the future.

During the program, Aditya Thackeray said that the voice of the youth was raised democratically and students from across the country came together to convey their views to the government. He also spoke on phone to Abhijeet Deepke, who is leading the movement in Delhi. During this, the status of the movement and further strategy were discussed.

Many leaders and artists including Aditya Thackeray, Amit Thackeray, Sanjay Raut supported the demands of the students in the program.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the demands of the students should be listened to seriously and necessary reforms should be made in the education system.
