Crystal Palace has signed defender Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea, the Premier League announced on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023. He made 61 appearances for the Blues. He also had loan spells at West Ham United (2025-26) and Aston Villa (2024-25).
Disasi was a part of the France squad which finished runner-up in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. He has played five games for his nation.
“Crystal Palace are delighted to announce the signing of defender Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea,” the Eagles said in an official statement.
“I’m very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going,” said Disasi after joining Palace.
“I know that it’s very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park – so I’m looking forward to being on the other side now!”
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish said, “We are pleased welcome a defender of Axel’s experience and calibre to Palace for the season.
“I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park.”
Under new manager Pierre Sage, Palace began its league season with a 2-0 away loss to Everton. It will host Manchester City on Friday.
The club will also compete in the UEFA Europa League 2026-27 after winning the previous edition of the Conference League under Oliver Glasner, who is now the Nottingham Forest boss.
