Chennai Super Kings (CSK) officials are now keeping an eye on the news related to the team, in which allegations of leaking of dressing room information and contacts for match fixing have been made. According to the report, the CSK board may meet to discuss these matters before its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on September 25. After the matter comes to light, the team’s anti-corruption system is also expected to be discussed.
According to a Cricbuzz report, a recent Tehelka sting operation claimed that a former domestic cricketer linked to a CSK player had access to insider information about the team. It is alleged that this information was passed on to bookies in London and huge sums of money were taken in return. A CSK official said; “Our Annual General Meeting is coming up. Our board will sit before the AGM. We will discuss this matter.”
Former cricketer made many claims
In the sting, the former cricketer, who played six first-class matches, allegedly claimed that he used to get information about CSK’s playing eleven before the match through a player from Delhi. He also claimed that this information was sold to a bookie for about Rs 3 crore. Additionally he said that if his contact was selected in the 2026 IPL auction, he could have helped in match fixing; However, that player was not selected in the auction.
Vansh Bedi denied the allegations
In the sting operation, it was also claimed to provide inside information related to a team of Delhi Premier League (DPL). The report said that this information matched a DPL match played on August 3. The DDCA took cognizance of the allegations, but described them as “unverified and unconfirmed”. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Vansh Bedi’s name has also been linked to an alleged corrupt link; Giving clarification on Instagram, Bedi said; “I clearly say that I am not the person mentioned in the Tehelka sting operation and I have no connection with any such activity.”
