Olympic and World Champion Neeraj Chopra was expected to win the gold medal in the final, but he had to settle for silver in a tough competition. Neeraj produced his best throw of the season, securing the silver medal with a throw of 85.83 meters. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Taranga Pathirage won the gold medal with a record throw of 89.75 meters.

In addition to Neeraj Chopra, Yashveer Singh also won a medal for India with a stellar performance in this event. Yashveer produced a career-best throw of 85.41 meters in his final attempt to win the bronze medal.
Neeraj’s last attempt was a foul
Neeraj Chopra took an early lead in the final, but a massive throw from Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Taranga Pathirage turned the contest into a close contest. Neeraj attempted a comeback in his sixth and final attempt, but it was ruled a foul. Despite this, he won the silver medal and shared the podium with Yashvir Singh.
