The statement also said that this increase will be effective from January 1, 2026 and will be given along with the salary of May. Additionally, the Provisional Increment (TI) for pensioners has also been increased by 2 per cent, and this will be reflected in the May pension, the statement further said. About 8.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners are expected to benefit from this announcement.

Tamil Nadu increased DA for government employees and teachers

On 14 May, the Tamil Nadu government announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and teachers. DA has been increased from the current 58 percent to 60 percent, which will be applicable from January 1, 2026. Bihar cabinet approved to increase DA

Bihar Cabinet has also approved the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners. Employees and pensioners covered under the Sixth Central Pay Commission will get an increase of 5 percentage points in DA and dearness relief from January 1, 2026, which will increase from 257 percent to 262 percent. DA of employees covered under the Fifth Central Pay Commission has been increased by 9 percentage points from 474 percent to 483 percent. At the same time, under the Seventh Central Pay Commission, it has been increased from 58 percent to 60 percent.

There may be an announcement to increase DA in Bengal tomorrow

While giving information about important decisions related to DA, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had recently said that the implementation of the seventh pay commission will be discussed in the second cabinet meeting of the government on May 18. “Next Monday, I will hold another cabinet meeting to discuss several important issues,” he said.
