Emma Slater is going to some painful lengths to perfect her Dancing With the Stars routines.
The Season 35 professional, who joined the show in 2012, casually revealed that her entire toenail fell off while practicing with celebrity partner Jackson Olson of the Savannah Bananas.
In an Instagram video posted on September 18, the 37-year-old British and American professional dancer and choreographer opened up about her experience on reality competition program, saying, “This one was painful,” in the caption.
“There’s a lot of people that want to do Dancing With the Stars, and they want to experience it, but there’s something you should know,” she said as she showed her broken off toenail.
“If you do Dancing With the Stars, this could happen,” the season 24 champion admitted. “Do you know what this is? This is my toenail.”
“It’s not a fake toenail. This is my actual toenail,” Emma clarified. “I had to peel that off just now because it was flip-flopping like a cat door.”
Fans reacted to her injury in the comment section, with one humorously saying, “We want to see the toe!”
“Are you going to have to put a fake toe nail on?” another questioned.
“that’s the life of a showgirl,” a third wrote.
