Daudau old age home on fire, 11 people died!
At least 11 people have lost their lives in a fire at a nursing home in Sri Lanka. Many were injured. A quick rescue operation was launched after the Daudau fire broke out at Maypia Sevana Elderly Care Home, 65 km from Colombo. 50 people were rescued. But death could not be avoided in spite of great efforts. The incident has spread excitement in the area.
The fire happened around 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Rescue work started quickly. 51 people have been rescued. 7 people are admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. It is reported that the fire was quickly brought under control with the combined efforts of local and police. A full inquiry has been ordered to find out how the fire started.
According to initial reports, the fire started when a gas cylinder burst. However, the investigators have not confirmed anything about this yet. They said that the actual cause of the fire is yet to be known. However, they have assured that the information will be known for sure through the investigation. After the rescue operation, they were temporarily taken to a nearby school. Then from there it is sent to a safe place.
