After another successful outing that saw Lovepreet Singh and Seema Kaliramna add silver and bronze, respectively, to India’s medal tally, the country’s athletes return for a crucial Day 9 at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.

The spotlight will be on Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who takes centre stage in the men’s javelin throw final. Joining him will be compatriots Rohit Yadav and Yashvir Singh, as India eyes multiple medals.

The boxing ring promises another busy day with ten Indian pugilists just one win away from the gold medal bouts.

Lovlina Borgohain, Preeti Pawar, Jaismine Lamboria, Arundhati Chaudhary, Sakshi Chaudhary, Priya Ghanghas, Jadumani Singh, Sachin Siwach, Ankush Panghal, and Narender Berwal will all be in semi-final action.

India will also look to make an impact in judo, with Harsh Singh, Shraddha Chopade, Rohit Majgul, Asmita Dey, and Yamini Maurya beginning their campaigns, while medal bouts are scheduled later in the evening.

In athletics, Tejaswin Shankar continues his decathlon campaign with five events on the schedule, including the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and the concluding 1500m.

India will also feature in the mixed 4x400m relay heats, while P. Yashas Palaksha and T. Santhosh Tamilarasan will chase a podium finish in the men’s 400m hurdles final.

Cycling action continues with India’s riders competing in the men’s 4000m individual pursuit and keirin events, while the bowls contingent returns with Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar in the men’s pairs and Nayanmoni Saikia in the women’s singles.
