Death toll increases in Nepal jeep accident, 20 people died; Devotees were going to celebrate Baisakh Purnima

Nepal Accident News Updates: A jeep slipped from a mountain road in Rolpa district in Nepal on Thursday (April 30) and fell into a gorge about 700 meters deep. Now the number of deaths in this accident has increased. 20 people have died in this horrific road accident. Giving information, the police said that the accident occurred due to accumulation of mud in Jaljala area due to rain.

The jeep slipped in this mud and fell straight down the hill. Nepal Police confirmed the death of 20 people. Sunil Thapa, Information Officer of Rolpa District Police Office, said that local people were traveling in the jeep. Locals had hired private jeeps to participate in the Baisakh Purnima festival at Jaljala on Friday.

Rescue operations hampered due to heavy rain

Relief operations faced difficulties due to heavy rains in Nepal. Nepal Police said that the exact number of passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident has not been fully disclosed yet. This means that the number of deaths in the accident is expected to increase.

Local residents and policemen engaged in relief work

As soon as information about the accident was received, relief and rescue operations were started to save the policemen and local residents. It is being told that these pilgrims had gone to Jaljala to perform religious rituals on the full moon day on Friday.

A jeep went out of control and fell into a deep ditch in Takura located in Swargadwari Municipality-4 in Pyuthan district. In this accident, a woman and her 5-year-old daughter from Maharajganj district died on the spot and 18 passengers were injured.
