New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Delhi government minister Parvesh Sahib Singh has leveled serious corruption allegations against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that Kejriwal will have to answer for the alleged corruption that occurred during his 11-year tenure. At a press conference held at the state BJP office, he described the CAG report as a written document of the alleged corruption of the Kejriwal government.
’24 CAG reports came in 18 months of our government’
Parvesh Sahib Singh stated that audits were not conducted during the Kejriwal government, while 24 CAG reports have been released during the current government’s 18-month tenure. He claimed that these reports have revealed irregularities worth thousands of crores of rupees. He said that the CAG report presented in the Assembly on August 7, 2026, pertains to the period up to March 31, 2023, and claims to have revealed irregularities worth approximately ₹3,500 crore.
Allegations made regarding 1,185 manual tenders
The BJP leader alleged that the Kejriwal government ignored rules and issued 1,185 manual tenders. He claimed that these tenders received 14,527 bids, raising serious questions about the transparency of the tender process. According to Pravesh Sahib Singh, only three percent of tenders had contract award files, while 97 percent of contract award files were unavailable.
Claims of irregularities in GST and e-way bill also
Citing a CAG report, he said that the Delhi government had outstanding dues of around Rs 70,410 crore from traders for more than five years, which were not recovered. He claimed that there were 8,334 such traders whose GST registration had been cancelled, but they continued to generate e-bills. He also said that e-way bills worth around Rs 68,680 crore would be generated till March 31, 2023. Apart from this, he claimed that 4,076 non-filers continued to generate e-way bills worth Rs 11,635 crore. He said that out of 6.10 crore e-way bills, only 0.10 percent were verified.
Question on electricity subsidy also
Pravesh Sahib Singh also raised questions about the electricity subsidy scheme. He claimed that approximately 50,000 consumers had zero bills for 12 months, yet were given a subsidy of ₹17.81 crore. He also claimed that approximately 90,000 consumers were absent from their homes for six to 11 months, yet were still given a subsidy of ₹11.88 crore. According to him, approximately ₹42 crore was issued in the name of energy subsidy, which will be investigated.
Allegations regarding Baprola Industrial Park also
The BJP leader also raised the issue of land acquired for an industrial park in Baprola. He said that according to a CAG report, no work had been done there in the last 28 years, resulting in wasteful expenditure of ₹29.45 crore and outstanding ground rent of ₹15.79 crore. He alleged that while former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal talked about a land shortage, the available land was not utilized.
Demand for investigation, claim of seeking accountability from Kejriwal
Parvesh Sahib Singh said that the CAG report details financial irregularities in various departments of the Delhi government. He said that the matters revealed in the report will be investigated and responsibility will be fixed. He reiterated that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will have to account for his 11 years in office.
