Delhi Capitals: Before IPL 2027, big and historic changes are being seen in the Delhi Capitals team. The franchise is restructuring the entire core with the intention of leaving behind its old records and winning its first IPL trophy. This time there has been a change not only in the players playing on the field, but also in the coaching staff sitting in the dugout and the backend management. Delhi Capitals has appointed former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas and former Indian spinner Amit Mishra as the new bowling coaches of the team, in which Vaas will be seen coaching in the IPL for the first time. Along with this, veteran Yuvraj Singh will take over the responsibility of batting coach and this entire star-studded team will work under the supervision of former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who will be the head coach of Delhi Capitals.
Change in team management of DC, command in the hands of JSW Sports
The real reason for this big change in Delhi Capitals is an old and unique agreement between the two owners of the team, GMR Group and JSW Sports. Under this agreement, both the owners take turns to handle the entire functioning of the team for two years each. In the last two seasons (2025 and 2026), the responsibility of running the team was with GMR Group, who appointed Hemang Badani as head coach and Venugopal Rao as cricket director. Now as per the rules, the command of management for the next two years (2027 and 2028) has come into the hands of JSW Sports. As soon as JSW came to power, he replaced the old staff with veterans like Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh and created a new and dynamic 'Superstar Coaching Panel'.
DC appointed Yuvraj Singh as batting coach
Star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who won 2 World Cups for India, will accompany Ganguly as the new batting or assistant coach of Delhi Capitals. His art of mentoring the youth will strengthen the middle order of Delhi.
