A very good news has emerged for the women of Delhi. Launched to provide financial support to women from economically weaker sections in the national capital. 'Delhi Lakshmi Yojana' Under this, a program of distribution of first installment and official sanction letters (Benefit Letters) is being organized. The official sanction letter of the scheme and the first installment of assistance is being issued to the eligible women beneficiaries by the Chief Minister in a grand state level program organized at Talkatora Stadium in the capital just before Rakshabandhan.

As per the framework notified by Delhi Government:

  • 26 August (today): Symbolically, acceptance letters are being distributed to about 2,500 women in the program organized at Talkatora Stadium and the verification process has been completed.

  • Credit to account from 1st September: Monthly installment of ₹2,500 will start being transferred regularly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the bank accounts and digital wallets of all approved and verified beneficiaries.

As per the guidelines of the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Delhi, two payment models have been given to the beneficiaries:

Which women are getting the benefit of this scheme? (Eligibility Conditions)

  • Age Limit: The age of the applicant woman should be between 21 to 60 years.

  • family income: The total annual income of the family should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.

  • Resident of Delhi: The woman or her family must be a permanent resident of Delhi for at least the last 10 years and the woman must be a registered voter of Delhi.

  • A woman from the family: Only the senior most eligible woman of the family can apply for this scheme.

These categories have been kept out of the scheme

  • Whose family member files Income Tax or GST.

  • Government employees, Corporation/Board or PSU employees.

  • Families who have a four-wheeler (car) or whose annual electricity consumption is more than 2400 units.

  • Women with more than 3 living children or who are already receiving any government pension.

Beneficiary women should ensure that their bank account is linked to Aadhaar and NPCI mapping, so that the first installment sent through DBT can reach the account without any technical hindrance.
