A shocking incident has come to light at Delhi’s Shahdara railway station, where a 32-year-old man was beaten to death over a fight over boarding the Yoga Express. Police have arrested eight accused, including four minors, from Muzaffarnagar for the murder of Delhi Metro worker Pankaj Dhama.

The stoppage of Yoga Express at Delhi’s Shahdara railway station on Saturday morning was only for two minutes, but these two minutes cost the life of Delhi Metro guard Pankaj Dhama. A Delhi Metro employee was beaten to death by some youth over an altercation while boarding the train on Saturday morning.
The people present there allege that the RPF jawan was present there during the incident, but he did not make proper efforts to save the youth and arrest the accused. The dispute that started while boarding the train quickly turned into a violent fight. The accused, after kicking and punching Pankaj, fled away in the same train.

After the beating, the young man was admitted to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Pankaj Dhama (32), originally from Baghpat, was an employee in Delhi Metro. People alleged that if Pankaj had been taken to a nearby hospital on time and given first aid, his life could have been saved.
According to the police, he had a scuffle with some youth while boarding the train. DCP Railway said that to arrest the accused, eight police teams conducted raids in Muzaffarnagar, Rishikesh and Haridwar. Eight accused including four minors have been arrested from Muzaffarnagar and handed over to GRP Delhi.
On interrogating the accused, it was found that all of them were said to be residents of Shahdara in East Delhi. Everyone was going to visit Haridwar.
