Delhi Metro Golden Line: 75 percent work of Delhi Metro Golden Line completed, still there is a crisis on the deadline, the wait of Delhiites is long.

Delhi Metro Golden Line: The construction work of the most important Delhi Metro Golden Line of Phase-4 of Delhi Metro is going on at a fast pace. 75 percent work of Delhi Metro Golden Line has been completed. However, international conditions are also affecting big infrastructure projects. The effect of this is that the Golden Line Corridor has fallen behind the scheduled deadline. Due to this, the wait for Delhiites to travel on the Golden Line has become longer.

15 new metro stations are being built on this 23.6 km long corridor, which will provide better connectivity between South Delhi and the airport area. Most of the project is underground.

According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, till April the civil construction work of the corridor has reached 78.11 percent. Construction began in 2020, but challenges related to Covid and land availability have affected its pace. About 26 percent work of the project remains. It is considered difficult to complete it in the next six months. For this reason, the possibility of delay in starting the operations has increased.

DMRC is now working on a plan to open this corridor to passengers in different phases by the end of 2026. If construction and testing work progresses at the planned pace, operations may begin earlier in some sections.

Global situation is also becoming a challenge

On the delay in the project, DMRC Principal Executive Director Anuj Dayal said that international conditions are also affecting big infrastructure projects. Due to the Gulf War, there remains uncertainty regarding the availability of raw materials, machinery and human resources. If circumstances remain unfavourable, the set goals and timelines of the project may be reviewed.

Golden Line will connect to these areas

The Golden Line is the most important metro project of Phase-4. With its commencement, traffic between South Delhi, Sangam Vihar, Khanpur and the airport area is expected to become much easier. However, due to the construction work being behind, passengers may have to wait longer than expected to avail the facilities of this new metro line.
