CM Rekha Gupta launches Dust Portal 2.0

The government has taken the help of technology to control dust pollution in Delhi. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the AI-powered Dust Portal 2.0 (Dust Pollution Control Self-Assessment Web Portal and Mobile Application). This digital platform developed by Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) will provide real-time monitoring of dust control measures at construction and demolition sites. The Chief Minister said that this portal is equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) based technology, through which the compliance of dust control rules at construction sites can be monitored in a more effective and transparent manner. Through this, project operators will also get the facility to self-assess their construction sites.

70 lakh tree plantation campaign gains momentum

Under the 70 lakh plantation drive being run with the aim of making Delhi clean, green and developed, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the plantation drive organized in Model Town assembly constituency and planted saplings. Around 1,100 saplings were planted in the Model Town area in this program organized under the ‘Green Delhi Sankalp’ and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that each plant is not just a tree, but a symbol of the resolve to provide clean air, greenery and healthy life to the coming generations. He said that environmental protection is not only the responsibility of the government, but only with the joint participation of every citizen, Delhi can be made clean and pollution-free.

Electricity bill will be expensive again in Delhi

Electricity consumers of Delhi may have to face expensive electricity bills for the second consecutive month. Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has given permission to the capital’s electricity distribution companies (discoms) to charge additional Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPPAS) of up to 8 percent from customers. Officials said that after this decision of DERC, power distribution companies will be able to add FPPAS to the electricity bills of their consumers for the second consecutive month. This is likely to increase the monthly electricity bills of consumers.

Old trucks and buses will be electric in Delhi-NCR

Taking a big step towards reducing pollution in Delhi-NCR, the Delhi government has approved the plan to convert old trucks and buses into electric vehicles in a phased manner. The ‘Naya Safar’ scheme of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government has been approved through the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB). Giving information in this regard, Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh told in the Secretariat that the objective of this initiative is to phase out the old commercial vehicles which cause more pollution in Delhi-NCR and in their place promote clean fuel based BS-VI standard or electric vehicles.

On Monday, Additional Sessions Judge Parveen Singh, while giving his verdict in the case, convicted five accused including Tahir Hussain. Bulldozer action continues in Delhi; Action against illegal encroachment continues in the national capital Delhi. On Tuesday, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) team reached Pitampura with a bulldozer, where a campaign was launched to remove illegal constructions done on the main road. The MCD team reached the spot in the presence of heavy police force and administrative officials. During the action, illegal structures built on the road were removed.
