Delhi Namo Oxygen Parks: 18 Namo Oxygen Parks started in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta said – target of developing 100 parks
Delhi Namo Oxygen Parks: In view of the increasing pollution in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta is continuously taking measures. In this series, 18 Namo Oxygen Parks have been started in Delhi. CM Rekha Gupta and Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav laid the foundation stone of oxygen parks by planting saplings in Maidangarhi. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and South Delhi MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri were also present on this occasion.
On this occasion, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government and the central government are working together towards developing 100 oxygen parks in the capital. This will improve the climate of Delhi.
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this is a long-term plan to increase green cover in the city and provide a clean environment. The Chief Minister said that Namo Oxygen Park will be different from normal parks. In these, only such indigenous species of trees will be planted which are considered more beneficial for the environment. Trees like Peepal, Banyan, Jamun and Mango will be the identity of these parks. These trees will not only improve the oxygen level but will also strengthen the local biodiversity and provide natural habitat to birds.
Target to plant 70 lakh saplings this year
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government has set a target of planting 70 lakh trees in the current year. Also, special care-taking committees will be formed at the local level to look after each NaMo Oxygen Park.
More than 185 acres of land will be made green zone
According to the government, a total area of 185.42 acres will be developed as green area under 18 NaMo Oxygen Parks. The purpose of these parks will not be limited to plantation only, but they will also be conserved and developed in the long run so that future generations can benefit from it.
