Yogi government is going to implement new rule in UP, now these vehicles will not get diesel-petrol

No PUC No Fuel: Every year the air in Delhi and its adjoining National Capital Region starts becoming poisonous as soon as winter sets in. To deal with this serious problem, this time the Uttar Pradesh government has prepared a very strict and big plan ahead of time. The direct aim of the government is to clean the skies of NCR this year and bring a huge reduction in the level of air pollution by about 30 to 35 percent.

Strict instructions to concerned government departments

For this, strict instructions have been given to all the concerned government departments to coordinate among themselves and complete the work within the time limit. The biggest and most effective thing about this entire campaign is that from October 1, the system of ‘No Pollution Certificate, No Fuel’ i.e. no oil without PUC will be fully implemented in all 1,041 petrol pumps of NCR.

I can no longer tolerate procrastination

To put this master plan on the ground, a high level review meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Secretary SP Goyal. It was made clear in this meeting that now no laxity will be tolerated in keeping an eye on the factors causing pollution. The government is now going to make the entire system digital.

There will be real time monitoring

Under this, real time monitoring of all major activities will be done. For this, a network of special portals, mobile applications, GPS tracking system in vehicles and an integrated dashboard is being prepared. With this, officers will be able to sit at one place and see where pollution control rules are being followed and where carelessness is being taken.

sour vehicles spoil the air

The biggest role in spoiling the air of NCR is the old and sour vehicles running on the roads. Investigation has revealed that there are about 26.19 lakh such vehicles in different districts of NCR which have completed their stipulated time limit. The work of removing these vehicles from the roads is going on war footing. At the beginning of this year, between January and April, more than 37 thousand vehicles have been converted into scrap and hundreds of vehicles have been confiscated.

Public transport is being promoted

Environment-friendly public transport is now being promoted in place of old vehicles. Under this, a big target has been set to run a total of 975 electric buses in big cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Meerut, out of which the initial phase of buses has already hit the roads.

Continuous emission monitoring system installed

Along with vehicle smoke, dangerous smoke emanating from factories also makes the air suffocating. The government has identified 725 industries in NCR areas that cause the most pollution. To control these factories, online continuous emission monitoring system has been installed in 613 of these industries.

43 air quality monitoring stations will be built

This system has been directly connected to the main server of the Central Pollution Control Board, so that the amount of smoke coming out of industries can be directly monitored round the clock. Apart from this, a total of 43 air quality monitoring stations are to be built in NCR to measure the purity of air, most of which have started functioning and the remaining stations will also be fully operational by the month of October.

Major steps are also being taken to prevent dust

Dust flying on the roads is also a major cause of pollution. To prevent dust from flying, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Noida authorities are jointly redeveloping about 1,792 km long roads. The government is going to spend crores of rupees on this huge work. To keep the roads clean, the scope of cleaning with machines is being increased, for which new mechanical sweeping machines are being purchased.

Collection centers were also built

Along with this, there has been a ban on throwing debris and construction material of old buildings in the cities in the open. For this, dozens of collection centers have been set up and the trucks carrying the debris are being monitored through GPS tracking and geo-tagging so that no one can dump garbage on the roadside in the dark of night.
