There is a threat of terrorist attack in the country’s capital Delhi. High alert has been issued after input received from the intelligence agency. Security arrangements at sensitive places in the city have been increased.
Barricading has been done on major roads of Delhi. The vehicles are being thoroughly checked. Meanwhile, the security arrangements of many government buildings including the BJP headquarters have been tightened.
News agency PTE quoted sources as saying that an alert has been issued to security agencies regarding suicide attacks, IED blasts, firing and targeting of important offices and crowded areas in Central Delhi. Security of sensitive places has been increased.

After receiving intelligence input, Delhi Police has been alerted. Apart from this, bomb disposal squad, fire department, dog squad and rapid response teams have been asked to be alert. Important government buildings, offices of political parties, markets, transport centers and crowded places are being investigated.

Apart from surprise checks, the police is also running verification campaigns in different areas of Delhi. The security arrangements of the entire city are being reviewed. Senior officials are keeping an eye on the entire situation.
All district units have been instructed to remain alert and maintain coordination with central paramilitary forces. Police have been instructed to keep an eye on suspicious activities, abandoned objects and parked vehicles in sensitive areas.
