Big action by police against drug smugglers in Delhi, drugs including hydroponic weed worth crores recovered in 4 operations

Delhi Police Action: Taking major action against the drug trade in Delhi, North-West District Police has carried out four separate NDPS operations. According to the police, a total of five drug peddlers have been arrested in these operations, including a Nigerian woman supplier. Apart from this, a minor has also been caught.

Police have recovered 1.180 kg of hydroponic weed (OG) from the possession of the accused, whose estimated value in the international market is said to be around Rs 1.1 crore. Apart from this, 10.530 kg ganja, 396.33 gm heroin (commercial quantity) and 9.76 gm MDMA have also been recovered.

Major seizures in four separate operations

According to North-West District Police, teams of Anti-Narcotics Squad, Police Station Adarsh ​​Nagar and Police Station Jahangir Puri conducted four separate operations based on intelligence. During these operations, the police also recovered suspected drug sale amount of Rs 28,800, 13 mobile phones, two electronic weighing machines and drug packing material.

Police claim that through these operations, many networks related to supply of hydroponic weed, ganja, heroin and synthetic drugs have been exposed in Delhi.

Accused arrested with hydroponic weed near metro station

In the first operation, the anti-narcotics squad arrested 29-year-old Sandeep Singh from near Madhuban Chowk metro station on July 24. On searching the bag hanging on his shoulder, a total of 1.180 kg of hydroponic weed in two packets was recovered.

According to the police, the value of the recovered drugs in the international market is around Rs 1.1 crore. In this case, FIR has been registered under relevant sections of NDPS Act in Maurya Enclave police station. During interrogation, information has come to light about the accused being a college dropout and working as a delivery partner in Kolkata in the year 2025. The police is now busy finding the supplier of drugs and the links of the entire network.

10.530 kg ganja recovered in Adarsh ​​Nagar

In the second operation, the police raided Rana Pratap Road in Adarsh ​​Nagar on the intervening night of July 20 and 21 and arrested 34-year-old Joinal. 10.530 kg of ganja was recovered from his possession.

Police investigation revealed that the accused has already been involved in three criminal cases, one of which is related to the NDPS Act. In this case, FIR has been registered in Adarsh ​​Nagar police station.

Heroin and MDMA supply network exposed

In the third operation on July 19, Nahim and a CCL were caught during action in Lal Bagh, Azadpur. 100.16 grams of heroin, electronic weighing machine, packing material and mobile phone were recovered from them.

During interrogation, the police allegedly got information that the accused used to buy MDMA from a Nigerian woman. After this, the police team took action in Om Vihar area of ​​Uttam Nagar and arrested the woman. 9.76 grams of MDMA was recovered from him. According to the police, the permanent address of the woman is Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (West Africa).

296.17 grams of heroin recovered in Jahangir Puri

In the fourth operation, on July 24, the police arrested a woman in Jahangir Puri area. During the search, 296.17 grams of heroin (commercial quantity), suspected drug sale amount of Rs 28,800, 12 mobile phones and smack packing material were recovered from his possession.

According to the police, the accused woman has already been arrested in a case under NDPS Act. In this case, FIR has been registered in Jahangir Puri police station.

What did the police say?

According to Akanksha Yadav, IPS, DCP, North-West District Police, the police is continuously running a campaign by gathering intelligence to take effective action against the illegal drug trade in the district and to dismantle the organized drug network. Many drug supply chains have been detected during these four operations.

On the basis of interrogating the accused, the police is now trying to find out the entire forward and backward linkage of drugs. The investigating agencies are also trying to find out from where the recovered drugs were brought and to whom they were to be delivered to in Delhi. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
