Let us tell you that the Delhi government has made the subsidy process completely digital under the new EV Policy 2026. In which Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched Delhi EV Subsidy Portal on Friday. Through which people can now apply for subsidies and other government benefits while sitting at home. The purpose behind this step taken by the government is to promote electric vehicles and work on reducing pollution in Delhi. The application process of this app has been made fast and transparent.

If we talk about the new portal, to apply here, buyers will have to upload necessary documents like Aadhar Card, Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) and Voter ID. After this, OTP will be sent to the mobile number for registration and after filling it, the application process will proceed. Regarding this process, the government says that those who are eligible for subsidy. They have to apply within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle and getting the RC. In which after the application is approved, the subsidy amount will be sent directly to the bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). With this new initiative, the government aims to give the amount to the beneficiaries within 60 days of receiving the application.

EV sector will get a boost with investment of Rs 7,000 crore
Regarding this initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the biggest feature of this portal is that people will no longer have to visit government offices. In which the applicant can also track the status of his application online in real time. The Delhi government has planned to invest more than Rs 7,000 crore in the next four years to implement the new EV policy. This will go a long way in strengthening electric mobility in the capital and reducing pollution.

How much subsidy will be given on which vehicle?
For information, let us tell you that under the new policy, subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 will be given on purchase of electric two-wheeler, up to Rs 50,000 on electric three-wheeler and up to Rs 1 lakh on N-1 category electric trucks. Apart from this, additional incentive amount will also be given for scrapping old polluting vehicles. Lastly, let us tell you that road tax and registration fees will be completely waived on electric vehicles priced up to Rs 30 lakh. Due to which buying an EV will become more affordable than before.
