The court has put an interim stay on the order of Rampur Development Authority to demolish Mohammad Ali Johar University located in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. After the ban, the students’ protest which had been going on for about 12 days was postponed for the time being. Giving information on Tuesday, a university official said that the protest by the students of Johar University against the demolition notice issued by the Rampur Development Authority has been stopped due to the interim ban on demolition.
An alumni of the university also participated in the protest. The student, who graduated in 2019, said, ‘The student protest has been temporarily stopped.
‘We have full faith in the judiciary’
A post graduation student who participated in the protest said, ‘The students’ protest has been temporarily postponed. We welcome and respect the stay order given by the court of Moradabad Divisional Commissioner. We have full faith in the judiciary.

Interim ban imposed after application
Moradabad Divisional Commissioner’s Court on Monday, while giving interim relief to Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, had stayed the proposed demolition of 38 buildings of the campus till the final hearing of the case. Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh had said that the interim stay was imposed after an application was filed by the university’s lawyer.
Final decision will be taken after investigation
He said that the scheduled hearing could not be held on Tuesday as a condolence meeting was organized after the death of a lawyer in Moradabad. Singh said that the application of the university’s lawyer has been accepted and there will be a stay on demolition of any structure till further orders. He said that the final decision will be taken after hearing all the parties and examining the records.

An order to stop the demolition was issued on the 12th day of the students’ protest. Meanwhile, after the interim stay was imposed by the court of Moradabad Divisional Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai reached Johar University late on Monday evening and met the students and congratulated them by feeding them sweets. The students had started protesting against the RDA order issued on July 15.
