Lucknow. UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has requested the doctors of the state to write the names of medicines in Hindi or Devanagari script on the consultation prescriptions of the patients. He said that with this, patients will be able to easily understand which medicines have been given to them and their confidence in the healthcare system will also increase. Deputy CM sent a letter to the doctors saying that keeping in mind the convenience and trust of the patients, priority should be given to writing the names of medicines in Hindi. He also emphasized on making the medical communication (Chikitsa Samvad) simple and understandable to the common people.

Brajesh Pathak said that democracy becomes stronger through folk language and public language. If doctors communicate with patients in their mother tongue or local language, they will be able to understand their problems and medical advice better. He expressed the need to communicate with patients in languages like Bhojpuri, Awadhi and Brajbhasha.
He said that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, a resolution can be taken for maximum use of Indian languages, especially Hindi. There is a need to take inspiration from the thoughts of national heroes and great men and promote the use of indigenous languages in the systems related to the common people.
Example of Hindi dialogue given in foreign countries
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also communicates abroad through Indian languages, especially Hindi. This strengthens the linguistic identity of the country. He called upon the doctors to make medical communication simpler and in local language for the convenience of the patients. He said that doctors should make this initiative a part of public service by taking forward the 'spirit of indigenous language in the country'.
