New Delhi. A copy of the first FIR lodged by Delhi Police regarding the violence that took place during the Parliament march has come to light. In this FIR lodged at the Duty Path police station, a case has been registered under 13 serious sections of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), including attempt to murder. Police claim that during the demonstration the protesters attempted to break the security arrangements, attacked the police force and damaged government property.
Case under several serious sections including attempt to murder
According to the FIR registered by Delhi Police, considering the violence during the protest as a serious crime, a case has been registered under a total of 13 sections including Section 109 (1) (attempt to murder) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). This case assumes special importance as it is related to the violence that took place in very sensitive and high security areas like Parliament and Railway Bhawan.
Police attacked, many soldiers injured
It has been alleged in the FIR that the protesters suddenly became furious and surrounded the policemen on duty. After this, the policemen were pushed, assaulted and stones were pelted. Police allege that protesters threw slippers, stones and other objects, injuring several policemen. Police have claimed that the attack was extremely aggressive and the lives of the soldiers were in danger.
Damage caused to government and private property
During the violence, protesters are alleged to have damaged several government barricades as well as private vehicles parked nearby. In this regard, the police have also included sections of causing damage to public and private property in the FIR.
Police used force when situation worsened
According to the police, the protesters were asked several times to retreat peacefully and follow the laid down rules, but when the crowd continued to advance and attempted to break the barricades, a mild lathi charge was used to control the situation. Along with this, tear gas shells were also released to disperse the crowd. Police say that this action was taken to ensure the security of Parliament, Rail Bhavan and other important government institutions.
Police team was deployed from 5 in the morning
According to the FIR, the duty of the concerned inspector was imposed at C-Hexagon, Zone-11 (Pink Booth) from 5 am. After receiving the information through wireless, the police team immediately reached the barricades located at Rail Bhawan Roundabout, where thousands of protesters were already present and were continuously shouting slogans.
Despite announcement of implementation of Section 163, warning not heeded
Police have stated in the FIR that on the spot, repeated announcements were made through loudspeakers that Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) would be implemented and that demonstrations would not be allowed. The protesters were also appealed to return peacefully, but according to the police, the crowd ignored the warning and continued shouting slogans.
Accused of breaking the barricade and moving towards Parliament
The FIR states that some people present in the crowd instigated other protesters to break the barricades and move towards the Parliament House. After this the situation deteriorated rapidly and a clash broke out between the police and the protesters. Police allege that during this period an attempt was also made to break the security cordon.
Identification will be done on the basis of video footage and CCTV
Delhi Police says that CCTV cameras installed at the spot, drone footage, mobile videos and other electronic evidence are being examined. Those involved in the violence will be identified and legal action will be taken against them. Police has made it clear that no culprit will be spared.
Investigation continues, more arrests may be made
Delhi Police has started investigating the matter. According to officials, further arrests are likely to be made based on the available evidence. The police is conducting a detailed investigation of the entire incident so that the role of all those responsible for the violence can be clarified.
