Recently, during a Facebook Live, she couldn’t control her emotions and broke down in tears in front of the camera. The actress revealed that her mother is still trapped in the flood-affected area, while many of her relatives’ homes have been completely destroyed.

During the Facebook Live, Devoleena became emotional and said that she hadn’t been able to talk to people for the past few days because she already knew she wouldn’t be able to hold back her tears. She said, “I apologize to everyone. That’s why I couldn’t make a video. I knew I would break down and cry.”
“My mother is still trapped in Nazira.”
Devoleena explained that she has a deep connection with Sivasagar and Nazira in Assam. She spent her childhood, education, and entire early life there. She said, “Sivasagar and Nazira are where I grew up. I was born there and did my schooling and college there. Unfortunately, my mother is still stuck in Nazira. By God’s grace, our old house is in an area that wasn’t completely flooded.”
Grandmother and Aunt’s House Completely Submerged
The actress explained that while her old house is safe, other family members have suffered significant losses. Devoleena said that her grandmother and aunt’s house was completely submerged in the flood. She became emotional and said, “Everything is gone. Nothing is left. As you can see in the video, there is nothing left there.”
Despite worrying about her family, Devoleena continues to be active in relief work. She has appealed to people through social media to help the flood victims of Assam.
Assam floods have claimed 85 lives so far.
According to media reports, this year’s floods in Assam have wreaked havoc. The state government has released interim relief funds of approximately ₹160 crore for more than 75,000 affected families.
