Dhamaal 4 Actress Anjali Anand: Anjali Anand’s pain expressed over body shaming and dirty comments of trolls, said- ‘Deepika-Aishwarya too…’

Anjali Anand, the great actress who has made her mark from the TV world to Bollywood, is in the news these days for her upcoming film ‘Dhamaal 4’. However, before the release of the film, she is becoming a victim of severe trolling on social media regarding her body type and weight. In a recent interview, Anjali spoke openly about the challenges and conservative thinking she faces in the film industry due to her height and plus-size body. The actress believes that even today in the industry, plus-size actors are limited to only comedy or mocking roles. Anjali, who made her film debut with Akshay Kumar starrer film ‘Bell Bottom’, revealed her disappointment while remembering the role of ‘Bell Bottom’. Recalling that small role of hers, Anjali made a surprising revelation. He told, "I was cast in ‘Bell Bottom’ only so that a terrorist could stumble upon me and get caught." Anjali admitted that it is very disappointing to get such roles again and again just because of body shape, because the makers do not even try to see whether the person in front is a good actor or not. After Anjali Anand was cast in ‘Dhamal 4’, questions were raised about working in ‘Dhamal 4’, some viewers raised questions on her that how can an actress who has been so vocal against body shaming, become a part of a comedy film in which there can be jokes making fun of obesity. Responding to this criticism Anjali said, "People ask me how can I do this film. But the bitter truth is that the thinking of the society is still the same. Even after proving myself, people are making fun of me online and making nasty comments."

Trolls crossed the limit: ‘Which buffalo has been taken…’ Revealing the abuses and lewd comments received on social media, Anjali said that people are writing on the internet – ‘Which buffalo has been taken’, ‘What days have come for Riteish Deshmukh that he has to work with this heroine’, or ‘What days have come for the industry, are there no heroines left?’ Anjali bluntly said that until our society changes its thinking, the outlook of film scripts and writers will also not change. When Shahrukh-Amitabh can be criticized, then what am I? Responding boldly to the taunts of the world and trolls, Anjali said that this negative criticism from people is not limited to plus-size actors only. He said, "Not to mention me, even the biggest stars of the country do not live up to the standards set by trolls. Even Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai are not enough for them. Even Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have faced heavy criticism in their life. These are just empty nesters who give their opinions just because they have social media. Your reality cannot be changed by their poor thinking."
