Dharmendra kept Bobby Deol house arrest, ‘Ranga Billa’, story of a criminal can be seen in Rakh series:
Read, Digital Desk : A true story-based, 8-episode series, “Raakh,” starring Sonali Bendre and Ali Fazal, has taken Prime Video by storm since its premiere. The story of this series has been influenced by the “Ranga Billa” crime incident, one of the most prominent crimes that rocked the nation in 1978.
But, “Ranga Billa,” is more than just the story on-screen to Bobby Deol; it’s a thing that has a more significant place in his life. Back in 2025, Bobby Deol spoke about “Ranga Billa” which, changed his childhood and a story that he has never forgotten.
The kidnapper Ranga Billa had held his friend captive.
While Bobby Deol was invited to be a special guest at Raj Shamani’s podcast last year, he told an incident of him being in sixth grade. He revealed how his close school friend was held captive by the kidnapper, Ranga Billa in his childhood but his friend was fortunate enough to be able to escape from the kidnapper’s den due to some miscalculation.
Bobby Deol stated, “Amongst all the people who were kidnapped, he was the luckiest one because at that point of time there was some misunderstanding between Billa and Ranga and my friend was with Ranga and the cops were chasing them. Ranga ran off from his house leaving my friend at a paan shop. The shopkeeper asked who my friend was, gave him 100 rupees and sent him back to home.”
