Veteran late actor Dharmendra gets Padma Vibhushan posthumously
Veteran Indian cinema actor Dharmendra was posthumously awarded Padma Vibhushan. His wife Hema Malini received this honor in a program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. During the ceremony, the eyes of the people present appeared moist and the entire hall echoed with applause. Dharmendra’s daughter also appeared very emotional on this occasion.
Dharmendra has made a place in the hearts of millions of people with his powerful acting and different style in Hindi cinema for decades. His command of action, romance and family characters made him the “He-Man” of the Indian film industry. Apart from films, his contribution in social and political life is also considered memorable.
This year, names of 131 celebrities were announced for the Padma Award. Out of 131, 5 were awarded Padma Vibhushan, 13 were awarded Padma Bhushan and names of 113 celebrities were announced for Padma Vibhushan.

Hema Malini looked emotional
Hema Malini looked very emotional during the felicitation ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan. While receiving the honour, he remembered Dharmendra and said that this is a proud moment not only for his family but also for the crores of fans who always loved Dharmendra.
Dharmendra had worked in more than 300 films
Dharmendra made his debut through the film ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’ released in 1960. His journey that started with this film continued for about 64 years. He had done more than 300 films in his career. He died at the end of the year 2025. His departure left all his fans heartbroken. Apart from Dharmendra, Bhojpuri folk singer and musician Bharat Singh Bharti has also been awarded Padma Vibhushan for his contribution in the field of art.
